Slow Cooker Taco Meat
This easy taco meat recipe is perfectly seasoned and stays warm right in your slow cooker for your next family taco night.
recipesbynani.comThere is nothing better than coming home to a house that smells like seasoned tacos. I love using the slow cooker for this because the meat stays incredibly tender and stays at the perfect temperature for everyone to build their own bowls or shells.
My best tip is to use a lean ground beef so you do not have to worry about too much grease sitting in the pot. If you are feeding a crowd, you can easily double this recipe to keep the line moving at your party.
🧺 Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 small white onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Place the raw ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic into your slow cooker.
- 2
Use a wooden spoon to break the meat into smaller crumbles.
- 3
Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat and stir in the tomato paste and beef broth.
- 4
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
- 5
Before serving, give the meat a good stir and break up any remaining large chunks.
- 6
Serve warm directly from the crockpot with your favorite tortillas and toppings.
💡 Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze this cooked meat in bags for up to three months. It reheats perfectly in the microwave or in a skillet on the stove.
