Nani's Easy Strawberry Cobbler
A warm and bubbly strawberry dessert that features a golden, buttery crust.
recipesbynani.comThere is nothing quite like the smell of strawberries baking in the oven on a summer afternoon. This simple cobbler is one of my favorite recipes because it comes together so quickly and tastes like pure sunshine.
My secret to the best cobbler is making sure the strawberries are nice and ripe. If you find your berries are not very sweet, you can add a tiny bit more sugar to the fruit filling before you bake it.
🧺 Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2
Toss the strawberries with 1/4 cup of the sugar in a mixing bowl and let them sit for a few minutes while you prepare the batter.
- 3
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 4
Stir in the melted butter and the milk until you have a smooth batter.
- 5
Pour the strawberries into a buttered baking dish, then spoon the batter evenly over the top.
- 6
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.
- 7
Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving so the filling can thicken up.
💡 Tips
Serve this warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days and warm them in the oven before serving again.
