Nani's Easy Apple Dump Cake
A super simple dessert that tastes just like a homemade apple cobbler without all the hard work.
recipesbynani.comThis apple dump cake is my go to recipe when I want something sweet but do not have time to bake from scratch. It is incredibly easy to put together because you do not even need to stir the ingredients.
My biggest tip is to make sure you spread that butter evenly over the dry cake mix. This ensures every bite gets nice and golden without any dry powdery spots left behind.
🧺 Ingredients
- 2 cans apple pie filling
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- 2
Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
- 3
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples.
- 4
Pour the dry cake mix evenly over the apples and cinnamon layer.
- 5
Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix, making sure to cover as much of the dry mix as you can.
- 6
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top if you are using them.
- 7
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
💡 Tips
Serve this warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. If you have leftovers, keep them in the fridge for up to three days and warm individual portions in the microwave.
