Homemade Chocolate Crunch Granola
A rich and crispy granola that feels like a treat but makes for a perfect morning breakfast.
recipesbynani.comThere is something so special about waking up to the smell of toasted oats and chocolate in the oven. This granola is a favorite in my house because it stays nice and crunchy and keeps everyone full until lunch.
My biggest tip for getting those perfect big clusters is to press the mixture firmly into the pan before baking. Be sure to let it cool completely without stirring, or the clumps will fall apart before they have a chance to set.
🧺 Ingredients
- 3 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 3
Pour the honey and melted coconut oil over the dry ingredients and stir until every oat is evenly coated in chocolate.
- 4
Spread the mixture onto your prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Use the back of a large spoon to press the mixture down firmly so it forms a compact layer.
- 5
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not stir the granola while it bakes.
- 6
Remove the pan from the oven and let it sit on the counter until it is completely cool. This helps the clusters harden.
- 7
Once cool, break the granola into pieces and stir in the chocolate chips.
- 8
Store your granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
💡 Tips
Serve this with cold milk or a big scoop of Greek yogurt for extra protein. You can also toss in some toasted almonds or dried cherries if you want a bit of extra texture. Keep it in a glass jar on your counter to keep it fresh and crunchy.
