Fresh Mango Salsa
This bright and fruity mango salsa is the perfect refreshing topping for tacos or grilled fish.
recipesbynani.comThere is something so special about the combination of sweet mango and spicy peppers. I love making this when I want to add a pop of color and flavor to a simple dinner, and it always disappears so quickly whenever I bring it to a gathering.
My biggest tip is to use mangoes that are ripe but still slightly firm so they hold their shape when you chop them. If your mangoes are too soft, they tend to turn into a puree, and we really want those beautiful little cubes in the mix.
🧺 Ingredients
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1/2 red onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 large lime
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Peel and dice your mangoes into small, even pieces and place them in a medium bowl.
- 2
Add the finely diced red onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro to the bowl.
- 3
Pour the fresh lime juice over the ingredients and sprinkle with the salt.
- 4
Gently toss everything together until well combined.
- 5
Let the salsa sit for about 10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend together.
💡 Tips
Serve this salsa with crunchy tortilla chips, or spoon it over grilled salmon or chicken. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days, though it is best enjoyed fresh.
