Easy Crockpot BBQ Chicken
This tender, saucy pulled chicken is the perfect easy meal for busy weeknights.
recipesbynani.comThere is nothing better than coming home to the smell of slow cooked chicken. This recipe is a favorite in my kitchen because it is so simple and the flavor is always spot on. You just toss everything in the slow cooker and let it do all the hard work for you.
My best tip is to shred the chicken while it is still warm so it absorbs all that extra barbecue sauce. It stays nice and juicy that way, making every single bite taste delicious.
🧺 Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 18 ounces of your favorite barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- 2
In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken until it is well coated.
- 4
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours until the chicken is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- 5
Remove the chicken to a cutting board, shred it into bite sized pieces, and then return it to the slow cooker to stir into the juices.
- 6
Serve warm on toasted buns with a scoop of coleslaw on top.
💡 Tips
Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to three days in an airtight container. You can also freeze the pulled chicken in a freezer bag for a quick meal later on. Serve it over baked potatoes or inside warm flour tortillas if you want a change from standard buns.
