Easy Caramel Apple Bark
This sweet and crunchy treat gives you all the classic flavors of a caramel apple without any of the messy work.
recipesbynani.comThere is something so nostalgic about the taste of crisp apples and gooey caramel. This bark is one of my favorite things to make when I want a quick dessert because it comes together so fast and always disappears quickly at parties.
You can keep this as simple as you like, or add extra toppings like chopped nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt. I personally love adding a little dark chocolate drizzle to balance out the sweetness of the caramel.
🧺 Ingredients
- 2 large Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
- 1 cup caramel bits or melted caramel candies
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts or pecans
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Arrange your thinly sliced apples in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- 3
Bake the apples for about 60 to 90 minutes until they are dried out and slightly shriveled, then let them cool completely.
- 4
Melt the caramel bits with the water in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- 5
Drizzle the melted caramel over the dried apple slices.
- 6
Melt the white chocolate in the microwave and drizzle it over the top of the caramel.
- 7
Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the bark while the chocolate and caramel are still soft.
- 8
Place the tray in the fridge for 30 minutes to set, then break the bark into pieces to serve.
💡 Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the apples crisp. If you have extra time, lightly toast your nuts in a pan before sprinkling them on top for a deeper flavor.
