Cute Halloween Bat Treats
These adorable bat treats are the perfect spooky snack for kids and adults alike during the Halloween season.
recipesbynani.comThere is something so fun about making treats that look just as good as they taste. These little bats are a favorite in my kitchen because they come together quickly without needing an oven, which is a big help when you are busy decorating for a party.
My best tip for these is to keep your chocolate and peanut butter cups in the fridge for a bit before you start assembling. It makes them much easier to handle and ensures the chocolate does not melt in your hands while you work.
🧺 Ingredients
- 12 miniature Reese's peanut butter cups
- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies like Oreos
- 24 candy eyes
- 1/4 cup chocolate frosting
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Gently twist the chocolate sandwich cookies apart so you have two separate discs, then carefully scrape the cream filling off one side.
- 2
Break each cream free cookie disc in half to create the wings for your bats.
- 3
Use a small dab of chocolate frosting on the back of each cookie half to stick them to the sides of a miniature peanut butter cup.
- 4
Add two tiny dots of frosting to the front of the peanut butter cup and press the candy eyes firmly into the frosting.
- 5
Let the treats sit for about ten minutes so the frosting sets and the wings stay securely in place before serving.
💡 Tips
Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. You can also press a small amount of extra frosting into the cookie wing seam if they need a little extra support to stay upright.
