Crispy Baked Jerk Chicken Wings
These crispy oven baked wings are tossed in a bold and spicy jerk barbecue sauce that everyone will love.
recipesbynani.comThere is nothing quite like a plate of wings to get a party started. These jerk chicken wings are a favorite in my house because they get perfectly crispy in the oven without needing to deep fry them in oil.
My top tip for extra crispy skin is to pat the wings very dry with paper towels before you toss them with the seasoning. If you have extra time, leave them in the fridge uncovered for an hour so the skin can dry out even more.
🧺 Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup jerk barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- 2
Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.
- 3
In a large bowl, toss the wings with the vegetable oil, baking powder, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
- 4
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not touching.
- 5
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Remove the wings from the oven and toss them in a large bowl with the jerk barbecue sauce until well coated.
- 7
Serve immediately while hot.
💡 Tips
Serve these with a side of cool ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance out the heat. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days and reheat them in the oven to bring back the crispiness.
