When I am short on time, this is the dinner I turn to every single time. You simply toss your uncooked pasta, fresh sausage, vegetables, and creamy cheese into a baking dish and let the oven do all the work. There is no boiling water or messy pots to clean up, which makes it perfect for a busy weeknight.

The magic really happens because of the Boursin cheese. As it bakes, it melts into the broth and cream to create a rich, garlic herb sauce that coats every bite. My top tip is to make sure your foil is sealed tightly around the edges of the dish, as trapping that steam is the secret to getting perfectly tender pasta every time.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 5.3 ounces Boursin garlic and fine herbs cheese

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Add the dry pasta, sliced sausage, broccoli, tomatoes, heavy cream, chicken broth, salt, and Italian seasoning into the dish and stir well.

  3. 3

Place the block of Boursin cheese right in the center of the mixture.

  4. 4

Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  5. 5

Remove the foil, stir everything together until the melted cheese forms a smooth sauce, and continue baking uncovered for 10 minutes until the pasta is tender.

  6. 6

Stir the pasta once more and let it rest for 5 minutes so the sauce can thicken before serving.

💡 Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. When you are ready to enjoy them again, microwave individual portions and stir in a small splash of milk to bring back that creamy consistency.
