There is nothing better than opening your fridge in the morning to a breakfast that is already made. These oats are creamy and filling, making them the perfect grab and go meal for busy mornings.

I love to use rolled oats for this because they get nice and soft while they soak overnight. If you prefer a bit more texture, you can use steel cut oats instead, but they will stay much chewier.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk of your choice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Place the oats, cocoa powder, and salt into a clean mason jar or a small container.

  2. 2

Add the milk, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and maple syrup to the jar.

  3. 3

Stir everything together very well until the cocoa powder is fully incorporated and the peanut butter is mixed in.

  4. 4

Place the lid on the jar and store it in the refrigerator for at least four hours, but preferably overnight.

  5. 5

Give the oats a quick stir in the morning and enjoy cold straight from the jar.

💡 Tips

You can store these in the fridge for up to three days. If you like toppings, add a few extra peanuts or some dark chocolate chips right before you eat. If the mixture is too thick in the morning, just add a tiny splash of milk to loosen it up.
