There is something so comforting about a warm bowl of tuna noodle casserole. It is the perfect weeknight meal when you want something creamy and filling without spending all night in the kitchen.

My favorite thing about this dish is how simple it is to put together. Just toss everything in a dish, bake it until it is bubbly, and you have a nostalgic meal that feels like a big hug on a plate.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a medium casserole dish.

  2. 2

Cook the egg noodles in boiling water according to the package directions, then drain them well.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, mix the cooked noodles, drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, peas, and half of the cheese.

  4. 4

Pour the mixture into your prepared casserole dish.

  5. 5

Top the casserole with the remaining cheese and the breadcrumbs tossed in melted butter.

  6. 6

Bake for 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.

💡 Tips

You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If you like a bit of extra crunch, try adding crushed potato chips to the topping instead of breadcrumbs.
